CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Responsible to: Store Manager and Assistant Manager

Position Purpose:

Provides excellent customer and donor service by accepting and merchandising donations and processing customer orders in an efficient, accurate, safe, clean and courteous manner.

Outcomes:

  • Assists in generating funds to support agency programs

  • Assists in managing expense, thereby maximizing funds to support agency programs

  • Contributes to the agency’s community image, thereby enhancing customer and donor support

Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Maintains agency quality assurance standards

  • Operates cash registers, credit card machine and check processing equipment

  • Ensures the accuracy of all monetary transactions

  • Operates pallet jacks, hand-carts, lift gates, and other loading/moving equipment

  • Sorts, cleans, prices, and stocks donated merchandise
  • Regularly moves large boxes, furniture and appliances

  • Adheres to all agency policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

(Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Incumbent Must Possess to Perform Job Adequately)

  • One year retail experience preferred

  • Strong interpersonal and sales skills

  • Professional verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated work ethic, integrity and professional conduct

  • General knowledge of the retail environment, including knowledge of popular brands, product pricing and antiques

  • Ability to work weekends

Physical Requirements, Mental, Equipment & Working Condition Elements:

  • Must be able to accurately discern colors

  • Work is performed in varying weather conditions, including hot and cold regularly

  • Incumbent may stand for long periods of time

  • Incumbent may use cash register, credit card machine, check processing, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of a normal workday

  • Stooping, bending, twisting, lifting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
